Breathing is a process that occurs throughout the day. A living body breathes, whether during sleep, active exercise, or involuntarily. Breathing is living. It is a fundamental function of life. In yoga, this is called "Pranayama."

"Prana" means "life force" in Sanskrit, and "-ayama" means "to expand" or "to lengthen." So, "Pranayama" means controlling the life force or extending the breath.

Every cell in our body requires oxygen for proper functioning. Therefore, it's not surprising that researchers have discovered that controlled breathing can reduce the effects of stress and enhance physical and mental health.

Have you ever noticed how relaxing a simple sigh can be at the end of a long day?

There are various breathing techniques that reduce stress, aid digestion, improve sleep, and cool the body.
